A Stronger Voice for Students withDisabilities at NJIT
I'm Evan Jesus, running for Disability Representative because every student — regardless of visible or invisible disabilities — deserves support, clarity, and a welcoming campus.
Meet Evan
I'm a Computer Science student at NJIT who cares deeply about community, fairness, and helping people feel supported — especially students who often feel overlooked. I've seen firsthand how confusing and stressful accommodations can be when communication breaks down. Many students navigate disabilities silently, without knowing who to turn to.
I'm running for Disability Representative because I want to fix that. I want to create a welcoming, transparent, and supportive environment where students with disabilities have a voice that is genuinely heard — and acted on.
Why I'm Running
Students with disabilities often feel unheard or misunderstood
OARS, professors, and students sometimes struggle to communicate clearly
NJIT needs better education and awareness around visible and invisible disabilities
Resources exist — but they're not always accessible, explained, or consistent
I want to be the bridge between students, OARS, and the Senate to improve clarity and support
I'm running because every student deserves to feel seen, respected, and understood — and I'm committed to making NJIT a more accessible, inclusive place for all.
